Taipei, Aviation police helped a Filipino passenger Tuesday to recover a commemorative watch that he left in a toilet while in transit through Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport.
The man forgot the watch, which his wife gave him as a wedding gift, in a rest room when he was in a hurry to catch a flight to San Francisco, according to the Aviation Police Bureau.
The man later returned to restroom to search for his watch, but to no avail.
He subsequently turned to the aviation police for help.
Police targeted a man on suspicion of walking away with the watch based on video from surveillance cameras, asked for help from Taoyuan Airport Corp. security personnel in searching for the suspect.
When found, as he was about to board a flight to New Zealand, he appeared nervous when approached by police.
The suspect was identified as a Filipino national, according to the bureau.
