Jun 14, 2018 Business & Finance Comments Off on Charity event held to raise awareness of dementia
Taipei, A charity gala attended by the director of Taiwan's award-winning short film "Grand Pa" (??) and lead actors from the movie was held in Taipei Thursday to raise awareness of Alzheimer's disease in Taiwan.
Wang Chi (??), a first-time short film director and winner of the 2018 Best Shorts Award in Los Angeles, said he hopes the film will inspire more people to contribute to charity, while raising public awareness of dementia.
The event, organized by the Taiwan Alzheimer Disease Association, was also attended by actors and actresses from the film, including Chloe Wang (???), Heaven Hai (???) and Bonnie Wang (???).
Wang Chi said he was inspired to make the movie because many of his friends' parents suffer from Alzheimer's and that experience led him to write and produce a short movie based on the subject.
As an expression of his deep concern about the disease, the director said he is allowing the association to use the film as a promotional tool to help raise awareness of Alzheimer's disease across the country.
