The 2014 Taipei Computer Applications Show will be taking place at Hall 1 of the Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC) starting Thursday, July 31. The Department of Transportation (DOT) encourages visitors to take public transportation to the exhibition to help alleviate the burden on traffic in the vicinity.
According to the organizers, the event is expected to attract over 280,000 visitors, with an average of 70,000 each day. This huge turnout will put a strain upon the traffic situation of Xinyi commercial district. DOT reminds drivers who are not attending the show to avoid the roads around TWTC. They should take heed of the updates displayed on the CMS signs and take detours accordingly.Due to the limited availability of parking spaces for cars and scooters in Xinyi District, DOT asks show-goers to take public transportation if possible. Possible ways of accessing the exhibition grounds include disembarking at either MRT Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall Station or MRT Taipei City Hall Station and renting a YouBike for a short ride to TWTC. There are also YouBike rental stations to return the borrowed bicycles near Hall 1, including “TRTC Hall 3” and “Civic Plaza”.For the latest and up-to-date traffic information from the area around TWTC as well as details on public transportation, please utilize apps such as Fun Travel in Taipei and ATIS mobile app for smart phones (http://its.taipei.gov.tw/a.html).
