CORONAVIRUS/Contacts of Taoyuan hotel case all test negative for COVID-19

All of the contacts of eight people involved in a COVID-19 cluster infection at a quarantine hotel in Taoyuan have tested negative for the disease, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) said Saturday.

Tests were carried out on 467 people who were identified as contacts, consisting of 414 people who either stayed at or are still under quarantine at the Taoyuan hotel, 37 hotel workers, and 16 people in the community, according to the CECC.

The CECC had released test results for most of the contacts in recent days, but confirmed on Saturday that those for whom results were not yet available also tested negative.

The cluster infection involved eight current or former guests of the hotel, but one of the eight was considered to be of particular concern because he had moved freely after leaving quarantine before testing positive for COVID-19.
