Taiwan confirmed 66 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, consisting of 17 domestic cases and 49 imported cases, and no deaths from the disease, according to the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC).
Nine of the new cases transmitted domestically have been classified as breakthrough infections, while four children under the age of 10 had not received any COVID-19 vaccine jobs. The vaccination status of the four other cases was still under investigation, the CECC said.

In addition to the domestic cases, Taiwan also reported 49 imported cases on Tuesday. The CECC did not release any information regarding the vaccination status of the imported cases.
To date, Taiwan has confirmed 17,951 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began in early 2020, of which 14,726 are domestic infections.
With no deaths reported Tuesday, the number of confirmed COVID-19 deaths in the country remained at 851.
