COVID-19: Number of second booster recipients reaches 3.18 million

Jakarta The COVID-19 Handling Task Force reported that 3,186,094 people had received their second booster dose of the vaccine as of Thursday.Based on information from the task force, 68,851,060 people have received their first booster dose, out of a total target of 234,666,020.

The number of people who have received their second dose of the vaccine is 174,892,036, and the number who have received their first dose is 203,844,643.

The recovery rate from COVID-19 increased by 325, bringing the total number of recoveries since March 2020 to 6,633,617.

The total number of positive confirmed cases since March 2020 is now 6,807,878, with an additional 38 cases reported on Thursday.

Two people died of COVID-19 on Thursday, bringing the total death toll to 161,773.

The task force noted that the number of active cases stood at 12,488 on Thursday, an increase of 38 compared to the previous day.

This number includes COVID-19 patients who are still undergoing treatment and self-isolation.

In addition, 965 suspected infections were recorded on Thursday. The task force said that this figure was obtained based on the testing of 12,214 specimens.

Meanwhile, the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture (Kemenko PMK) emphasized the importance of increasing the coverage of the COVID-19 booster vaccination.

ssistant deputy for health service improvement at the ministry, Nia Reviani, said that the community and all stakeholders need to actively participate in increasing the coverage of the COVID-19 booster vaccination.

Booster vaccinations are urgently needed as a positive step for protecting people from the risk of transmission and increasing the effectiveness of previous vaccinations.

“By getting a booster vaccination, the body’s immune level will increase. This will protect the public from COVID-19 infection and prevent the spread of the virus,” she said.

The ministry is also continuing to remind the public to remain disciplined in implementing the health protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19, she added.

“In addition, what is equally important is meeting the need for vaccinations, especially booster vaccinations to provide optimal protection,” she said.
