A workshop on E-business under the Global Cooperation and Training Framework (GCTF), jointly organized by Taiwan and the United States, opened on Wednesday in Taipei with 12 government officials and experts from nine countries in Southeast Asia and Pacific nations in attendance, according to a press release issued by Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The workshop, which will run through Oct. 11, is aimed at sharing experiences in developing electronic business in Taiwan and the U.S., narrowing the regional digital gap and promoting exchanges on E-business issues between governments in different countries, the statement said.
Participants include officials and experts from Palau, Marshall Islands, Solomon Islands, Kiribati, Papua New Guinea, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines and Indonesia, it added.
The GCTF was jointly established by Taiwan and the U.S. in June last year in an effort to expand bilateral cooperation between the two nations into broader regional exchanges in different fields, the MOFA said.
