Taipei, March 1 (CNA) Taiwan's export orders for January rose more than 19 percent from a year earlier, marking the 18th consecutive month of year-on-year increase, the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) said Thursday.
Export orders for the month totaled US$43.06 billion, a 19.7 percent increase from the year-earlier level, following a 17.5 percent rise in December, the ministry said.
As the global economy continued to recover and raw material prices continued to soar, solid demand worldwide pushed up orders by foreign buyers for Taiwan-made products in January, according to the ministry.
