Jul 06, 2017 Politics Comments Off on Fifth prize winning ticket for Grand Lottery to be raised
Taipei--The reward scheme for Taiwan's Grand Lottery (???) prizes will be slightly altered next week, with winners of the fifth lottery prize, or four matching numbers, to each be entitled to NT$2,000 (US$65.42), Taiwan Lottery Co. announced on Thursday.
Starting July 11, Grand Lottery ticket buyers who claim four of the six matching numbers (excluding the special number) will no longer have to split their reward with other winners on that day, it said.
According to the lottery company, the reward percentage for this lottery game will also be slightly increased from the current 55 percent of the revenue from ticket sales to 56 percent.
Also, fifth prize winners will not be taxed on their NT$2,000 reward, it said.
First introduced in 2007, the sale of Grand Lottery tickets has since amounted to NT$196 billion as of end of June, with over 82.75 million tickets sold.
The Grand Lottery numbers are drawn every Tuesday and Friday.
