To promote the iTAP mobile application, the Department of Information Technology (DOIT) has teamed up with Taipei Zoo to roll out a feature on the app that provides convenient guide information for individuals who plan to visit the tourist attraction.
The new feature integrates info on the zoo’s animals, plants, facilities, activities, transportation, and more. Incorporating GPS system, the map allows users to navigate both indoor and outdoor areas of the zoo and locate amenities that visitors need most—restrooms, dining spaces, nursery rooms, AED, first aid stations, etc. Other functions, including calendar, bus arrival, parking lot, real-time traffic, and panda ticket availability, also help visitors choose and arrange their itinerary. Those who download iTAP app to their mobile devices or share the activity article to their facebook wall and complete a questionnaire between July 15 and August 15 will be eligible to enter a raffle. Prizes can be as enticing as instant cameras and portable hard drives. Detailed information on the event can be found at http://www.cloud.taipei.gov.tw/103event/ (Chinese) iTAP is an app developed by DOIT to provide citizens with cloud services spanning transportation, travel, career, recreation, health, learning, disaster prevention, environmental protection, administrative affairs, and so on.
