The Government of Japan will provide some US$41.5 million in grant aid and over US$152 million in loan to Cambodia to support her infrastructure development projects and mine clearance, said a press release of the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFA-IC) made public this morning.
The Exchange of Notes and Record of Discussions on the grant aid and loan will be signed here on Mar. 21 afternoon at the MFA-IC between Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of MFA-IC H.E. Hor Namhong and Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Yuji Kumamaru, under the witness of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, it pointed out.
Of the total amount of grant aid, it added, more than US$29.4 million will be used for the rehabilitation of Chroy Changvar Bridge, and about US$12 million for the improvement of equipment for demining activities-phase VII.
On the other hand, the loan will be for the implementation of the National Road No. 5 Improvement Project (Prek Kdam-Thlea Maam Section) (Phase II), concluded the press release.
