Steve Chan (???), one of the five deputy chairmen of the opposition Kuomintang (KMT), tendered his resignation Saturday, saying he had completed his scheduled tasks.
"Since the tasks assigned for a period have been completed, I decided to resign as the KMT's chief deputy chairman, Chan said in a statement.
Chan's resignation will leave the party, which is led by Hung Hsiu-chu (???), with four vice chairmen -- Jason Hu (???), Hau Lung-bin (???), Chen Chen-hsiang (???) and Lin Junq-tzer (???).
