Taipei, Several Taiwan-based airlines on Monday announced flight disruptions for Tuesday due to Super Typhoon Maria, which is likely to skirt waters north of Taiwan between late Tuesday and early Wednesday.
China Airlines (CAL) said its flights CI120, CI121, CI122 and CI123 between Taoyuan and Okinawa will be postponed to Wednesday, which will be re-coded as flights CI3120, CI3121, CI3122 and CI3123.
All CAL flights departing after 8 p.m. from Taoyuan to cities in Europe, Australia, the United States and Canada will take off before 8 p.m., the airline said, adding that details will be announced on its website.
Mandarin Airlines said all its flights between Taipei Songshan Airport and Taitung, Kinmen and Penghu after 2 p.m. will be called off.
Flights departing from Taichung or Kaohsiung en route to Kinmen, Penghu and Hualien after 6 p.m. will also be canceled, it said.
Far Eastern Air Transport (FAT) said it will cancel flights FE8025, FE8027, FE027, FE8026, FE8828, FE8028, and FE028 between Taipei and Penghu; flights FE3355, FE3059, FE3060, FE3055 and FE3056 between Taichung and Penghu; flights FE6087, FE087, FE6088, FE088, FE6081, FE6085, FE6885, FE6082, FE6086 and FE6886 between Kaohsiung and Penghu.
Its flights FE071, FE8070, FE072 and FE070 between Taipei and Kinmen, as well as flights FE1059 and FE1060 between Taichung and Kinmen will also be canceled.
Its cross-strait flight FE190 between Kaohsiung and Haikou will be delayed to 8:35 p.m. on Wednesday.
Budget carrier Tigerair Taiwan said it will also cancel flight IT203 from Tokyo Narita to Taoyuan; flights IT230, IT231, IT232 and IT233 between Taoyaun and Okinawa; flights IT288 and IT289 between Kaohsiung and Okinawa; flights IT306, IT307 and IT308 between Taoyuan and Macau; flights IT505 and IT506 between Taoyuan and Bangkok.
Flight IT216 from Taoyuan to Tokyo Haneda will take off ahead of schedule at 3:45 p.m. and divert to land in Tokyo Narita.
Flight IT214 from Taoyuan to Okayama will take off earlier than scheduled at 8:30 a.m.; flight IT215 from Okayama to Taoyuan will also depart earlier at 12:55 p.m.
Flight IT611 from Daegu to Taoyuan will land in Kaohsiung instead. Flight IT255 from Sendai to Taoyuan, flights IT2232 and IT2233 between Taoyuan and Okinawa, flight IT213 from Osaka to Taoyuan, as well as flight IT304 from Macau to Taoyuan will be postponed to Wednesday, with their departure details to be announced.
