Taipei, June 26 (CNA) The Grand Hyatt Taipei has been ranked as the ninth-best hotel in Asia, according to a poll by Luxury Lifestyle Magazine Readers' Travel Awards 2018.
Grand Hyatt Taipei General Manager Jan-Hendrik Meidinger said in a press release that the win not only represents the commitment and hard work of all the staff, but also shows the travel preferences of global travelers.
Indonesia's Viceroy Bali was crowned as the best hotel in Asia, followed by the Chiva-Som in Thailand, Shangri-La's Villingili Resort in the Maldives, the Sarojin in Thailand, the JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay in Vietnam, the Banyan Tree Samui in Thailand, the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi in Vietnam and the Shangri-La's Hambantota Golf Resort in Sri Lanka.
Taiwanese international airline EVA Air also made the rankings for Best Long Haul Airline as third-best, surpassing British Airways but falling behind Emirates at the top of the rankings, and Virgin Atlantic.
The awards, run by Luxury Lifestyle Magazine, saw close to 65,000 readers pick their selections of the very best hotels, resorts, destinations and travel companies in the United Kingdom and around the globe, according to the magazine.
Some of the other categories in the awards included Best Hotel in the World, Best Hotel in Europe, Best Hotel in Africa, Best Hotel in North America, Best Hotel in South America, Best Hotel in Australasia and Best Airport.
