Taiwan hair stylist Lin Yi-siou (???) won the International Visionary Award in the Men's Cut & Style category at the recently concluded 2016 Alternative Hair Show in London, making her the first from Taiwan to snatch the title.
The International Visionary Award is an international competition developed from the original concept of Alternative Hair President Anthony Mascolo, which is aimed at raising money to fund research and ultimately help to find a cure for blood cancers, including Leukaemia.
This year, the competition was held at the Royal Albert Hall in London, attracting nearly 50 stylists from around the world to vie for awards in the Avant-Garde, Ladies' Cut & Colour and Men's Cut & Style categories.
Lin, who came from a hair salon in Kaohsiung, has worked as a hairdresser for nine years and this was the first time she participated in an international competition and won the championship.
Lin said she was so excited when she received the award trophy and certificate from Tony Rizzo, founder of Alternative Hair Show and Anthony Mascolo, respectively.
Lin also said she participated in the event with the aim of helping attract more people to pay attention and extend support to Leukaemia sufferers, primarily children and their families.
