Miyazaki, Taiwan took second place in the 2018 Asian U18 Baseball Championship after losing 5-7 to South Korea in the finals on Monday.
A tie was recorded at the end of the ninth inning as Taiwan scored one run in the first inning and two runs in the sixth inning while South Korea scored one run in each of the second, fourth and seventh innings.
During the first half of the 10th inning with first, second and third base loaded, South Korea was able to make four runs, widening the scoreboard to 7-3.
Taiwan tried to make a comeback in the last inning, but finished short of catching up with the South Koreans.
Taiwan batted out an impressive performance to reach the finals since the championship began on Sept. 3 by defeating Indonesia 29-0 and China 1-0, while Pakistan pulled out of the competition.
In the semifinals, Taiwan were also able to defeat Japan 3-1.
The U18 baseball championships are for players who are aged 18 or under.
