Taipei--Taiwan's official pavilion at the upcoming Bologna Children's Book Fair in Italy will focus on the pluralistic applications of picture books, the Ministry of Culture said Monday.
The exhibition, which will enter its 54th year, will run from April 3 to 6.
This year, the Taiwan pavilion will carry the theme of "Taiwan8," and demonstrate how Taiwan's original picture books have been transformed into different products and showing the unlimited energy of Taiwan's picture books to the world, the ministry said.
On display at the pavilion will be new books released over the past five years by the 43 Taiwanese illustrators who have been selected for the Bologna Illustrators Exhibition since 1989, according to the ministry.
Illustrator Lai Ma (??) will also be invited to share his story of how he turned from a full-time father to a best-selling illustrator, the ministry said.
