Comments Off on Taiwan’s Hsieh beats Halep to advance to fourth round at Wimbledon
London, Taiwanese tennis veteran Hsieh Su-wei (???) beat the world No. 1 Simona Halep of Romania 3-6, 6-4, 7-5 in the third round of the women's singles at Wimbledon Saturday.
This marked Hsieh's first career success in making it to the fourth round of the grand slam in London.
The Taiwanese, who is 48th in the world rankings, came from behind to defeat Halep in a game that lasted 2 hours and 20 minutes.
She will next face Dominika Cibulkova of Slovakia on July 9.
Wimbledon 2018 kicked off on July 2 and will run through July 15.
