President Tsai Ing-wen is urging government agencies to push for judicial reform in areas where a consensus has already been reached. She was speaking Monday at a judicial reform preparatory committee, for which she serves as convener.
The government is planning to call a national conference on judicial reform in June. Tsai asked committee members to explain the topics of discussion in a way that the general public can understand. She also said government agencies must inform the public about the progress of judicial reform.
The committee's vice convener, Judicial Yuan President Hsu Tzong-li, says the preparatory committee will deal with topics in order of importance.
