Taipei, Dec. 8 (CNA) The water supply to some areas of Kaohsiung will be suspended for 46 hours from Dec. 12 to allow for maintenance on the city's pipelines and other systems, Taiwan Water Corp. (TWC) said Saturday.
The state-owned utility company said that from 2 a.m. Dec. 12 to midnight Dec. 13, the water supply will be cut off completely for maintenance on lines and water treatment plants in an effort to improve the water quality and safety.
The areas that will be without water during the 46-hour period include the districts of Zuoying, Ciaotou, Tzukuan, Mituo, Dashe, Nanzih, and Renwu, the TWC said.
The supply will also be interrupted in parts of Gushan and Niaosong districts during that period, the TWC said.
Some 98,770 households in those areas will be affected, the TWC said, advising that residents store water in preparation.
