Arbor Metals Provides a Lithium Market 2023 Year-To-Date Review

Map of Arbor Metal Corp.’s Jarnet Lithium Claims

Arbor’s Jarnet Lithium Mine is located in the James Bay region of Quebec and is comprised of 47 map-designated claims that cover an approximate area of 3,759 hectares.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, June 21, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Arbor Metals Corp. (“Arbor” or the “Company”) (TSXV: ABR, FWB: 432) is pleased to provide stakeholders with its overview of the lithium market’s key developments thus far in 2023. As the demand for lithium continues to surge and questions about supply persist, Arbor remains committed to monitoring and analyzing market trends to best position itself in this evolving landscape.

Since the start of 2020, lithium carbonate prices have increased by over 585%.1 The future of lithium appears promising, with the demand expected to skyrocket in the upcoming years, primarily fuelled by the electric vehicle (EV) industry.

In 2023, the lithium market witnessed significant announcements that shaped the industry. Here is an overview of the main news we have seen impacting the sector thus far this year:

Lithium Producers: Major lithium producers are expressing confidence in the market’s long-term prospects. With lithium brine assets in the US and the Salar de Atacama in Chile, Albemarle expects strong sales volume growth in the energy storage segment for 2023.2 SQM forecasts increased demand this year, while Livent reported revenue growth in Q1 2023 and remains on track with capacity expansions.3

Lithium M&A Activity: Consolidation in the lithium space has accelerated in 2023. Albemarle’s unsuccessful bid for Liontown Resources4 and a joint venture’s unsuccessful bid for Essential Metals5 exemplify the heightened interest in merging or acquiring lithium projects. The mega-merger deal between Livent and Allkem, valued at US$10.6 billion, underscores the trend of consolidation driven by rising lithium demand.6

EV Makers and Lithium Supply: Electric vehicle manufacturers continue to secure lithium supply agreements, which have included agreements with already established producers. This growing focus on securing lithium supply demonstrates automakers’ recognition of the importance of securing critical resources for the EV industry’s growth.

Chile’s Lithium Industry: Chile, the world’s second-largest lithium producer, has announced plans to nationalize its lithium industry.7 The government’s goal is to stimulate the economy and safeguard the environment by issuing future lithium contracts via public-private partnerships with state oversight. This move aligns with Chile’s intention to encourage direct lithium extraction techniques to accelerate production and reduce water consumption.

Arbor remains committed to navigating the dynamic lithium market and capitalizing on the evolving landscape. The Company continues to assess strategic opportunities, advance its lithium projects, and contribute to the global transition towards cleaner and sustainable energy solutions.

Report after not being an MP 17 years

Parliament, June 21- “Chaturon” is convenient to report to the parliament. After not being an MP for 17 years, looking at the president’s knot, the Council can find a good solution. Vote for the chairman of the council

Secretariat of the House of Representatives Receive reports of new MPs for the second day from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The atmosphere begins in the morning with MPs gradually arriving to report themselves, such as Mr. Saritpong, involved MPs for Krabi, Bhumjaithai Party. Chaturon Chaisaeng, Pheu Thai Party’s party-list MP, Krasae Trakulphonpong, Nong Khai MP for Palang Pracharat Party and Ms. Supatcharee Thammaphet, MP for Phatthalung, Democrat Party

Mr. Chaturon said that today (June 21) is considered an auspicious time to come and get to know the council. Because since the construction of the new parliament building, I have never been once. So excited and happy. because he is not an MP for 17 years since 2006 because the political system is distorted There were 2 coups and the dissolution of political parties. revoke therefore not being an MP, so this time Back again as a member of the House of Representatives in very different circumstances than before Therefore, acting MPs after this Probably can do more than before. Speaking in the council has changed quite a bit. more data usage acting as a voice for the people to do more differently than before This can be done through various media, unlike in the past where you had to wait for topics, discussions, or submitting motions in the council.

“The political situation from now on I believe that concentrate on solving the law. Importantly, it must be in the constitutional amendment process. The MPs have work to do, need to find information, and have to think, study and acquire knowledge. Although I have been an MP for 7 terms, but the new situation must be learned. Understand and adapt more in order to perform duties as assigned by the people, ”said Chaturon.

Mr. Chaturon mentioned about the orientation. Pheu Thai Party MPs this afternoon (June 21) said it was an exchange of knowledge for MPs to share old experiences with new MPs. The council knew that according to the agenda, it was an orientation for MPs to make their work better. to exchange political opinions form a government is expected to be mentioned at the level of exchange of opinions Let the government coordinator listen. not a meeting to find any resolutions As for the case of the Pheu Thai chat that was leaked, I don’t know because as far as they talk in the line, there is no leak. So don’t know what happened.

As for the case that MPs for Pheu Thai do not want to raise the position of Speaker of the Council to move further, Mr. Chaturon said that he also saw it from the news. but didn’t get a chance to talk. I believe that today I have the opportunity to go and listen. However, he was informed by the leaders who discussed the formation of the government 3 days ago that the Pheu Thai Party saw that the party that got the number one MP Should be the chairman of the council Pheu Thai Party which is the second party Apply for the position of Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives. so believe Guidelines will be discussed again.

“I believe that this solution will benefit the establishment of the government. The vote to elect the chairman of the council is a secret resolution So don’t know who voted for whom. But usually such resolutions are voted by each party to show the same direction. to show the party’s policy stance in which direction So believe that we will discuss. and proceed according to party resolutions In addition, the success of government establishment must be taken into account. because the government could not be established will make it become a minority in the council making it inconsistent with the intentions of the people and may get a government that has no legitimacy Therefore, the establishment of a democratic government should be the first priority. Personally, I believe that when there is a discussion, there will be a good direction, ”said Chaturon.

When asked about the case when news appeared that other parties would nominate Mr. Suchart Tancharoen, Pheu Thai Party’s party-list MP to compete with the people of the Kaow Klai Party. Candidate for the position of Speaker of the Council, Mr. Chaturon said he did not know the facts because he had received news in the form of semi-rumours, so he believed that political parties would discuss for the benefit and promote the formation of a government. Therefore, it should be taken as the main issue.

As for the vote in the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives for Pheu Thai, will not break the line? Mr. Chaturon said he could not answer because he was one of the MPs, but had to try to help to go together is the best political though Voting will be exclusive and secret, but as a political party that announces anything to the people, the action should go in the same direction.-Thai News Agency

SATRIA-1 presents hope for better internet connectivity in Papua

Jayapura, Papua (ANTARA) – The internet has become an integral part of everyone’s life, as almost all aspects of life currently require internet connectivity, so efforts to ensure internet access to all is an inevitable obligation for governments worldwide. The Indonesian government is committed to ensuring internet connectivity for all Indonesians, even those living in the most disadvantaged, frontier, and outermost (3T) regions. The launch of the Republic of Indonesia Satellite-1 (SATRIA-1) is the most recent strategy implemented by the government to bolster internet connectivity nationwide. The satellite was successfully launched from the Cape Canaveral Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC 40) in Florida, the United States, on Sunday (June 18) afternoon local time or Monday (June 19) morning Indonesia time. The reusable rocket Falcon 9, owned by American-based private spacecraft manufacturer and launcher company Space X, was utilized to launch the satellite. “The launch of SATRIA-1 is one of our efforts for equitable digital infrastructure development in public service centers throughout Indonesia,” President Joko Widodo stated in connection with the successful launch through his official Instagram account @jokowi on Monday. cknowledging that their region will be one of the priority service areas for the new internet satellite, residents in the Papua region enthusiastically welcomed the launch of SATRIA-1. Public viewing of the satellite launch is also being organized in various regions in Papua, including Jayapura City in Papua, Mimika District in Central Papua, and Manokwari City in West Papua. “We highly commended the Indonesian government, and we are thankful for the (satellite) launching,” Papua Province’s Communication and Informatics Office’s Information Technology Department Head, Thomas Sibi, stated. Better internet connectivity will benefit people in all their activities, including to access education, business, and healthcare. Better internet will also ensure faster implementation of government programs in Papua, he remarked. The official stated that of all cities and regions in Papua, Mamberamo Raya District still has no internet connection. Sibi noted that during a recent visit to Mamberamo Raya, the office received a complaint from health officers of bad internet connection in the region. They said that unstable internet impedes their work to make medical reports, which must be conducted online. He expressed confidence that SATRIA-1 would end the internet blackspot in Mamberamo Raya as well as in other regions in the Papuan region where the internet connection is lackluster. Concurring with Sibi, Jayapura acting mayor Frans Pekey stated that although the city is covered by internet, there are some regions, particularly in rural and frontier areas, that still have no internet connection. Hence, the SATRIA-1 satellite is expected to free those regions from the internet blackspot and allow them to join the internet realm. Pekey said he was also glad that Jayapura hosted the public viewing of the satellite launch attended by local officials, residents, and schoolchildren. The acting mayor expressed optimism that the SATRIA-1 satellite network installation will be developed soon in the region to ensure the entire system will be operational by January 2024. SATRIA-1 will occupy the 146 degrees east longitude orbit, hovering over Papua’s sky. The satellite is the Indonesian government’s first multi-functional satellite, with the largest capacity among Asian countries and the fifth-largest in the world. The internet satellite, which is expected to have an operational life of 15 years, will need four to five months to reach its designated orbit area after its launch. ccording to a 2023 study conducted by the Ministry of Communications and Informatics’ Telecommunication and Informatics Accessibility Agency (BAKTI), the SATRIA-1 satellite will have a capacity of 150 Gbps. It will provide equal internet access to 50 thousand public facilities in 3T regions, such as schools, hospitals, community health centers, village offices, sub-district offices, as well as security services. The internet speed at each public facility served is expected to reach 4 Mbps, increasing from the earlier 1 Mbps for each point calculated in 2018 during the start of the SATRIA-1 satellite project. In addition to SATRIA-1, the ministry will launch Hot Backup Satellite (HBS) in the third quarter of 2023. BAKTI’sHead of Telecommunication Service and Information Ade Dimiantiexplained that SATRIA-1 is expected to commence its service in early 2024, as the satellite is required to undergo several phases before it is operational. fter its release at the orbit point, SATRIA-1 will undergo the in-orbit testing phase by operator PT Pasifik Satelit Nusantara (PSN) and Thales Alenia Space (TAS) for three weeks. The satellite will then undergo the in-orbit acceptance review phase, expected to take place next December. Earth station segments and terminals for satellite internet access at public service points would also be prepared after the launch, the official stated. Dimianti expressed hope that SATRIA-1, which will provide internet connection for more Indonesians, can be utilized optimally. “Schoolchildren, health officers, and government officials can perform their tasks properly with the internet access provided by the satellite,” the division head remarked.

Three days off for Eid al-Adha to boost economy: President Jokowi

Jakarta (ANTARA) – The additional days off for the 2023 Eid al-Adha are given in order to ensure that people’s economic progress can be maintained, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) stated.”Well, firstly, such days are needed to push the economy, particularly in the regions, so it will be better,” the president stated at the Prumpung Market, Bogor, West Java, on Wednesday. He opined that the additional days off for Eid can boost regional tourism activities. Hence, the government decided to set them, he remarked. “(This is) particularly in the local tourism sector. Hence, because we see that it is possible, we decide it,” he noted. The government, through the Three Minister Joint Directive, announced that June 28 and June 30 are days off for the 2023 Eid al-Adha, whereas June 29 is a national holiday to commemorate Eid al-Adha. The directive was signed by Religious Affairs Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah, and State Apparatus Utilization and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Abdullah Azwar Anas. “In order to improve the people’s (dynamics), economic and tourism growth, and to allow opportunity for children and parents to spend time together during school holidays on 2023 Eid al-Adha, there needs to be changes made to the collective leave days for 2023,” according to the directive. State Apparatus Utilization and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Abdullah Azwar Anas remarked that the three-day leave is not merely to bridge the difference of Eid al-Adha days between the government and Muhammadiyah but also to ensure good quality of holidays that can be enjoyed by families. “So it is not only because there are two Eid al-Adha on different days, but this is holiday season for kids, so quality time of our state civil apparatuses and Indonesians are important, so they can spend it with their families, he elaborated.
