Bratislava, Kaohsiung sign cooperation agreement

Visiting President of Slovakia’s Bratislava region Juraj Droba signed a partnership agreement with Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai (???) on Friday to enhance bilateral cooperation in various areas.

The pact was signed at a ceremony at Kaohsiung Exhibition Center, during a six-day visit by Droba, as part of a Slovakia delegation led by Slovak National Council Deputy Speaker Milan Laurencík.

At the signing, Chen said he hoped the agreement would facilitate bilateral exchanges in industrial development, among other fields, and enhance cooperation between Kaohsiung and Bratislava.

Droba, meanwhile, said he would like to see increased Slovakian investments in Taiwan, as the two sides work to develop action plans and agreements.

Under the agreement between Kaohsiung and Bratislava region, they will build cooperation in economic development, public health, technology, tourism, culture and education, according to a press release issued by the Kaohsiung City government.

After the signing ceremony, Mayor Chen arranged a boat tour for the visiting Slovakian delegation, which took them along Love River to explore parts of Kaohsiung in southern Taiwan.
