CORONAVIRUS/CECC to launch contact tracing website for confirmed COVID cases

A website that will enable individuals infected with COVID-19 to provide information needed for contact tracing will be launched Sunday, according to the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC).

The new website was first announced by the CECC on April 25, when simplified contact tracing procedures were introduced amid a major spike in confirmed COVID-19 cases that overwhelmed local government workers as they tried to check contacts of new cases.

With local governments unable to keep pace, the CECC limited the group of contacts to be checked to co-habitants, classmates, and co-workers, and cut the period to be investigated from four days prior to a patient testing positive or showing symptoms to two days.
