DP leader Lee visits ex-President Moon ahead of April elections

SEOUL, Former President Moon Jae-in met with main opposition leader Lee Jae-myung on Sunday and called for unity to win April’s general elections.

Moon stressed that a sense of urgency and earnest desire are crucial in winning elections as Lee of the main opposition Democratic Party (DP) visited Moon’s home in the southeastern city of Yangsan, DP spokesperson Park Sung-joon told reporters.

Lee said the DP will strive to unite by dissolving any division and conflict within the party, and put in all efforts to win the general elections.

Lee had been scheduled to visit Moon last month, but his trip was canceled after he was stabbed in the neck during a visit to the southeastern city of Busan on Jan. 2.
