Ocean Affairs Council chief resigns

The resignation of Lee Chung-wei (???) as Ocean Affairs Council (OAC) minister has been approved by Premier Su Tseng-chang (???) and will be effective from this Friday, the Cabinet announced Thursday.

Su has appointed OAC Deputy Minister Chou Mei-wu (???) to take up Lee’s responsibilities as acting OAC minister, the Cabinet said.

Lee, 69, resigned as he wanted to take care of his elderly mother, the Cabinet said, adding that he was resolute in his resignation.
