Re-tender announced for construction in Turkmenistan at the expense of the UAE’s investment in a polymer materials plant

The State Concern Turkmengaz has announced an international tender for the design and construction of a turnkey gas chemical plant for the production of polyvinyl acetate in the Dashoguz velayat on the basis of direct investments with production sharing conditions in accordance with the Law of Turkmenistan “On Hydrocarbon Resources”. The corresponding announcement was published in the newspaper “Neutral Turkmenistan” on November 27.

Despite the fact that the first time the tender was announced on July 29, and applications for it were accepted for 30 days, the announcement does not say that this is a re-tender.

On February 3, the Abu Dhabi Development Fund signed three Memorandums of Understanding with the government of Turkmenistan. The second agreement was signed to study the possibility of investing in a project to create a chemical industrial complex in Turkmenistan worth $ 175 million for the production of polyvinyl acetate.

Polyvinyl acetate (PVA) is a colorless resinous polymer used as a component of latex paint and in varnishes, adhesives and polyvinyl alcohol.
