Taiwanese table tennis player Chen Szu-yu (???) and her doubles partner Lee Ho Ching (???) from Hong Kong stormed into the women’s doubles semifinals at the WTT Star Contender European Summer Series 2022 in Hungary.

Chen and Lee charged into the semifinals by defeating Cheng Hsien-tzu (???) and Liu Hsing-yin (???) of Taiwan in straight games 11-6, 11-8, 11-5 on Friday in a quarterfinal match that lasted 24 minutes and 30 seconds at BOK Hall in Budapest.

The Taiwan and Hong Kong pairing will be pitted against world No. 2 in women’s doubles Mima Ito and Hina Hayata of Japan in the semifinals on Saturday.

Back at the quarterfinals match on Friday, Chen and Lee had a blast, taking a 9-3 lead in the first game before pocketing the opener. From there, it was déjà vu as the Taiwan-Hong Kong pairing took another 9-3 lead in the second game before taking a two-nil advantage to the third game.

In the final game, Chen and Lee never looked back as they closed out the match, sending themselves to the semifinals to face one of the strongest pairings in women’s doubles.

Meanwhile, Lin Yun-ju (???), Taiwan’s world No. 6 in men’s singles, faced an 11-8, 11-4, 12-10 upset by world No. 14 Wang Chuqin (???) of China in the quarterfinals on Friday.
