Within three (3) business days of the conclusion of the sale, the Sales Agent shall present the sale to the Circuit Court of Cook County for approval. The final sale price must be paid by successful bidder in full by cashier’s check, wire transfer or other means satisfactory to the Sale Agent at the closing. The closing shall take place within five (5) business days of the entry of the Order approving the sale. “I’ve devoted my entire career to high-end residential real estate. Say what you will about this business, but I’ve always found that there’s truth in numbers, and this listing is the real deal,” says Tim. Sprawling across nearly 10 acres between the Atlantic Ocean and Shinnecock Bay, 1320 Meadow Lane is the largest single lot on the ocean in Southampton Village. “We aren’t talking currently for sale, but period,” he notes. In addition to being located on the “sweet spot” of the exclusive, peninsular road, the parcel’s 550-foot width and 750-foot depth are extremely rare for this part of the East End. Its ocean frontage spans 550 feet for epic water views from sunrise to sunset. Spectacular, bay views and deeded bay access for watersports also celebrate what makes living in the Hamptons so special. The serenity here is golden.

The vacant lot’s position along the renowned Meadow Lane provides privacy and distance from public beach access, while being close enough to enjoy local services and hot spots. Its magnificent dunescape further fortifies a sense of protective seclusion, and the dunes’ elevation allows for straight-on ocean views. A piece of land of this magnitude makes the imagination run wild. Tim states, “Of course, there are so many incredible architectural styles to tap into within our region however, we selected this modern, open-air concept by Brazilian architect Leandro Francis as one vision and muse for the property’s endless possibilities. His futuristic design features soaring wings like a bird about to take flight.” Natural light pours through enormous windows that take full advantage of the sweeping water views. The sound of the ocean waves echoes through Cantilevered roofs, brise-soleil and diagonal concrete columns beautifully reflect the work’s signature elements.

‘Pikachu, I choose you!’: Pokémon plane lands in Taiwan

“Wild Pikachus have been spotted in Taoyuan!” A Japanese plane with a special Pikachu-themed livery touched down at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport on Saturday for a scheduled 13-day stay.

The body of the plane is painted entirely yellow, the trademark color of arguably the world’s second most famous cartoon rodent, and also is covered in images of the famous Pokémon character in action.

The plane entered service with Japan’s Skymark Airlines last June and is scheduled to keep its Pikachu paint job for five years.

The design is the result of a collaboration between Skymark Airlines and The Pokémon Company, the firm responsible for the brand management, production, publication, marketing, and licensing of all intellectual properties and characters from the famous franchise.

The plane will be grounded from the morning of March 5 until the evening of March 18 for service and maintenance at the hands of Evergreen Aviation Technologies Corp.

While Skymark does not operate routes to Taiwan, Taoyuan’s hangars are able to service the aircraft, which is a Boeing 737-800.

As the plane will depart from Taiwan on March 18 to resume services between Okinawa and other domestic locations in Japan, fans of the popular anime character are encouraged to visit the areas near Taoyuan airport now to try and “spot the rare Pokémon” before the plane is “blasting off again.”

99 million-year-old rare fossil to feature at Taichung amber exhibit

Visitors to Taichung’s National Museum of Natural Science will soon be able to see a rare fossil specimen from Myanmar dating back to around 99 million years ago at an amber exhibition at the museum, which starts at the end of April.

Entombed in the amber – also known as fossil resin – are preserved skin and feathers that experts believe are likely to be dinosaur remains.

According to Yang Tzu-ruei (???), an assistant researcher in geology at the museum, the feathers of modern birds have solid shafts, while hollow feather shafts, such as those found on the fossilized feathers, are more commonly found on dinosaurs.

He also said that the amber was uncovered in a location in Myanmar that experts believe was once a lagoon.

Due to the proximity of lagoons to both land and the sea, Yang said that it is reasonable for such locations to contain prehistoric fossils from both aquatic and land animals.

Two other ambers that were uncovered in eastern Taiwan, each only slightly bigger than a NT$1 coin, will also be featured at the exhibition.

Both of the amber specimens are also encased in rock, which, following chemical analysis by experts, are believed to have formed from resin that came from a tree which no longer exists in Taiwan, belonging to a line in the dipterocarpaceae family.

The ambers were unveiled Thursday at a press conference as a warm-up to the exhibition, where various fossilized tree resin specimens containing preserved feathers, skin samples, and parasites will be displayed.

On Thursday, the museum also signed a memorandum of understanding with Keelung’s National Taiwan Ocean University. According to the MOU, both academic entities will work together in the future to exchange research power and artifacts, as well as help construct another hall in the museum to exhibit minerals.

CORONAVIRUS/5 of local COVID-19 cases reported Saturday linked to Kaohsiung restaurant

Taiwan reported on Saturday eight new domestically transmitted COVID-19 cases, five of which are linked to a self-service restaurant in Kaohsiung, according to the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC).

Cases linked to Kaohsiung restaurant

In a video statement, CECC spokesperson Chuang Jen-hsiang (???) said three of the five infections were family members of a self-service restaurant worker in her 30s who was confirmed as having COVID-19 on Friday.

According to the CECC, the worker had traveled with her parents and sister in Hualien and Taitung counties in eastern Taiwan from Feb. 27- March 1.

The mother began developing a cough on Feb. 24, while the sister developed a cough and runny nose on March 1, the CECC spokesman said, adding that the father was so far asymptomatic.

All three individuals have been tested twice for COVID-19, with cycle threshold (CT) values ranging from 15-21 in the first try, while their second returned lower CT values, indicating a rising viral load, Chuang said.

Patients in Tainan, New Taipei

Meanwhile, the two other cases linked to the Kaohsiung restaurant are individuals from New Taipei and Tainan who are contacts of the parents, Chuang said, adding that the couple had also traveled with some 30 people as part of a tour group from Feb. 20-22 prior to their family excursion.

The number of infections linked to the Kaohsiung restaurant so far is six, he added.

According to the city government, the Tainan contact involved a man in his 60s who had received two doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine and a Pfizer-BioNTech (BNT) booster shot.

It said the individual developed a cough and runny nose on Feb. 28, just a few days after traveling with the tour group.

The city government added that a total of 24 contacts had been identified and asked to either quarantine at home or observe self-health management protocols.

Also Saturday, the New Taipei City government said that a local case reported by the CECC involved a woman in her 70s from Zhonghe District who had received two COVID-19 vaccine shots and a booster jab.

The woman is currently being treated in a hospital isolation ward, it said.

Taoyuan preschool cluster

Meanwhile, of the eight new domestic cases reported Saturday, three were connected to a previous cluster at the private Midi Preschool in Taoyuan.

Taoyuan City Department of Public Health said the three new cases tested positive during quarantine and therefore posed no health risk to the local community.

In addition to the domestic cases, the CECC also reported 72 imported cases on Saturday, 41 of them travelers who tested positive on arrival in Taiwan. The CECC did not release any information regarding the vaccination status of the imported cases.

To date, Taiwan has confirmed 20,797 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began in early 2020, including 15,459 domestically transmitted infections.

With no deaths reported Saturday, the number of confirmed COVID-19 fatalities in the country remained at 853.
