Taiwan’s Indigenous Tourism Festival, which runs from Sept. 30 to Oct. 2, will feature archery, cooking lessons, and traditional crafts, as well as customized gifts and prizes, the Tourism Bureau said in a statement Thursday.
According to the bureau, those visiting the festival will get a chance to experience Taiwan’s diverse Indigenous cuisine, crafts, and culture, in addition to receiving a free customized face mask.
To boost participation, there will also be NT$10,000 (US$327.6) worth of prizes on offer daily, as well as a chance to bid for a tour package.
The festival will feature four areas where people can check in, including one that provides an introduction to farming techniques and the traditional cuisine of the local Tsou people, where visitors can learn to weave the fishing nets used by the villagers, according to the bureau.
The festival, held in one of 16 Indigenous villages each year, is now in its ninth edition.
