CORONAVIRUS/New Taipei factory reports new domestic COVID-19 case

Career Technology Co., a supplier of flexible printed circuit boards to Apple Inc., has reported a new domestically transmitted case of COVID-19 involving a migrant worker at its Shulin factory in New Taipei.

The company said Wednesday it suspended the factory’s operations to have it disinfected and expected to resume production at 7 a.m. Thursday.

The new case was confirmed later Wednesday by the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) at its daily press briefing but was not included among the 10 domestic COVID-19 cases reported at the briefing.

The migrant worker in the Shulin factory showed symptoms of COVID-19 on Monday and was confirmed to have COVID-19 on Wednesday morning after being tested, and all workers who live in the same dorm as the infected individual will be tested, according to CECC officials.
