Taipei-EVA Airways, one of Taiwan’s major carriers, clinched three major awards at the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) award ceremony in Dublin on Wednesday, including one for the best airline in eastern Asia.
The “Five Star Global Airlines” rating was given to EVA Air for the fourth consecutive year, while the carrier won the “Best Overall Airline in Eastern Asia” award for the second year, it said Thursday.
In addition, EVA Air said, it clinched the award for “Best Cabin Service” at the 2022 APEX awards, which are based on passenger ratings of over 1 million flights by 600 airlines from around the world.
The ratings cover seat comfort, cabin service, food and beverage, entertainment and Wi-Fi service.
Meanwhile, the Taiwanese carrier said it will begin to offer podcasts on its in-flight entertainment system from July, in an effort to provide passengers with more entertainment options during flights.
APEX is a non-profit membership trade association dedicated to improving the airline passenger experience.
The airline association said the ratings this year were based on neutral, third-party passenger feedback and insights gathered through its partnership with TripIt from Concur, the world’s highest-rated travel-organizing app.
