Taiwan’s Globalwafers fails in takeover bid of German chip firm

A legal challenge by Taiwan-based microchip supplier Globalwafers to force approval of its takeover of Munich-based electronics company Siltronic has been rejected. The Berlin Administrative Court dismissed Globalwafers’ emergency application, the court announced on Tuesday, without naming the companies involved. The attempted takeover collapsed late on Monday because the deal did not get the approval of the German Economics Ministry within the time allowed.
