Capt. Thammanat Promphao, Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, said on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, before attending the Cabinet meeting. Provincial land reform meetings will be held throughout the country. To provide policy regarding the operation of the buffer zone (Buffer Zone) between the land reform area and the protected forest area under the responsibility of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation and the Royal Forest Department to enable the operations of the Land Reform Office to Agriculture (ALRO) complies with relevant laws and regulations. Including providing management of the land reform area. Appropriate according to
the principles of jurisprudence, political science, and the changing reality of today’s society.

In this regard, an urgent order has been signed to Mr. Winaroj Subsongsuk, Secretary-General of ALRO, regarding the said policy. As well as ordering to expedite inspection of land allocation in the land reform zone in the area along the land reform zone bordering Khao Yai National Park and adjacent areas. Including land reform areas throughout the country. which has boundaries with all types of government land Both under the responsibility of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, the Forest Department or other agencies. Whether there has been a case of illegal land acquisition or not Or allocate land to farmers illegally or not? Or there is still land that has not been allocated to farmers in any way. Capt. Thammanat emphasized that the buffer zone between the land reform
area and the protected forest under the responsibility of the National Parks Department and the Royal Forestry Department will not be allocated to farmers for farming. But it will be reserved for the creation of “community forests” in land reform areas. for farmers to take advantage along with preserving and increasing forest areas
