Traditional Chinese chatbot/browser open for testing in Taiwan

The world’s first traditional Chinese-friendly chatbot that can replicate ChatGPT functions in Chinese while serving as a browser was released Monday for Taiwanese users to test, software company MixerBox announced.

According to a statement, the company said its ChatAI Browser uses the same series of AI models (GTP-3) as ChatGPT and can help users generate words for various purposes, including creating content, translating text or composing a love letter.

Chen Po-chun (???), leader of the Taiwan-based traditional Chinese development team, said the new app typifies MixerBox’s dedication to developing different mobile applications (or Super-Apps) that can make people’s lives better and more convenient.

During an earlier test, for example, the team asked the chatbot to write a poem about Taiwan, and it produced one of more than 50 characters in just one second in return, Chen said.

The company, based in Silicon Valley, has previously created apps that gained traction in the market.

Last December, MixerBox launched a separate GPS location app called BFF, designed to help users stay connected to friends and social engagements.

That app was downloaded more than 500,000 times in three days and has been downloaded more than 3 million times to date, the company said.
